Privacy policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WPChangeSync, an Alterview product, handles personal data when you visit wpchangesync.com, contact us, buy or activate a licence, receive product updates, or request support.
WPChangeSync is designed for WordPress professionals. The plugin can move WordPress content, builder data, media, configuration, and logs between sites that you control. You remain responsible for deciding what data you export, import, push, pull, store, or share through your own WordPress environments.
Who is responsible
WPChangeSync is operated as an Alterview product. For privacy questions, contact support@wpchangesync.com.
For the WPChangeSync website, licence administration, product communication, and direct support, WPChangeSync acts as the controller of the personal data it collects. For data that you sync between your own WordPress sites, you decide the purpose and scope of that processing.
Data we may collect
- Website and security data: IP address, browser details, device metadata, requested URLs, timestamps, error logs, security events, and basic analytics information.
- Contact and support data: name, email address, company or project details, support messages, screenshots, logs, and files you choose to send us.
- Licence and checkout data: licence key metadata, activation identifiers, site URL, plugin version, activation status, order details, renewal status, and payment/checkout records handled through our commerce and licensing providers.
- Product communication data: email preferences, mailing-list status, messages opened or clicked where email tooling provides those events, and unsubscribe records.
- Plugin and remote-sync data: when you configure remotes, webhooks, or support access, technical information such as site URLs, API endpoints, workflow names, run status, error messages, and integration scope may be involved. The actual site content you sync normally remains on the WordPress sites and storage locations you configure.
Cookies and analytics
We may use essential cookies for security, sessions, forms, and site operation. We may also use privacy-conscious analytics, email, checkout, or embedded-service cookies where those tools are enabled. See the Cookie Policy for more detail.
Why we use data
- To operate the website and keep it secure.
- To respond to questions, support requests, and licence enquiries.
- To process purchases, renewals, licence activation, and update access.
- To deliver product updates, transactional messages, onboarding information, and requested communication.
- To improve WPChangeSync, diagnose bugs, understand feature usage, and prevent abuse.
- To comply with accounting, tax, legal, security, and dispute-resolution obligations.
Legal bases
Depending on the situation, we rely on contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligations. Examples include fulfilling a licence agreement, answering a support request, protecting the service against abuse, sending product communication you requested, or keeping legally required business records.
Sharing and processors
We may share data with service providers that help us run the website, email, hosting, analytics, checkout, licensing, security, backups, and support. These providers may only process data for the agreed service purpose. We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect rights or security, or during a business transition.
Retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. Support conversations are kept while they remain useful for assistance and product quality. Licence and order records are kept while the licence is active and for the period required for accounting, tax, dispute, and security purposes. Server and security logs are retained for a limited operational period unless needed to investigate abuse or incidents.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. You can also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No website, email system, remote connection, or WordPress installation is risk-free. Do not send production credentials, private keys, database dumps, licence keys, or sensitive customer data through public forms unless we specifically ask for them through an appropriate support channel.
Contact
For privacy requests or questions, email support@wpchangesync.com. If you are in the EU or EEA, you may also have the right to contact your local data protection authority.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, checkout, analytics, support tooling, or plugin functionality changes.
